Alligator Alcatraz

"Alligator Alcatraz" refers to a controversial immigration detention facility in Florida, located in the Everglades and named for its proximity to alligators. Opened in July 2025, the facility is built on the site of the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport and has faced lawsuits over its environmental impact and allegations of inhumane conditions.
