The original Allman Brothers Band was formed in 1969 and consisted of Duane Allman (slide and lead guitar), who had to drop out at his passing, in Oct. 1971 they, Gregg Allman (organ and lead vocals), Dickey Betts (lead guitar), Berry Oakley (bass guitar), Butch Trucks (drums), and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). This lineup created the band's iconic Southern rock sound, blending blues, jazz, and country, and is celebrated for their live performances. I still listen and love the original, over what Gregg and Dickey changed the group that Nov. 71, in Duane's' absences. They are still one of the best Southern Rock Bands of all time... We can only copy them, in their absence, with Honor, Respect, & Love. RIP
